What triggers fear?

"Yet, in spite of these spectacular strides in science and technology, and still unlimited ones to come, something basic is missing. There is a sort of poverty of the spirit which stands in glaring contrast to our scientific and technological abundance. The richer we have become materially, the poorer we have become morally and spiritually. We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together as brothers.” Dr. M. L King Jr

Why can’t we come together as brothers and sisters and busy ourselves spreading love and helping each other. Fear is the divider and not opening up to the possibility of something different can be one of the triggers to this behavior. The world is confused and it a shame that in 1964 this was being expressed and today this is what is experienced constantly. Fear causes people to tremble and make sporadic mistakes. Fear causes people to act like they have no sense when they might be some of the smartest people in the world. Why and what can be done to not just think rational but act rational with a spiritual compass? Recognizing the problem and acknowledging it is the first step towards recovery from an illness called being fearful of the possibility of positive thought becoming a positive outcome.

“In the same way, when we think negative our subconscious mind gets bombarded with negative messages and before we know it, our barrel is full and it overflows. This overflow of negative messages makes us anxious and panicky. What do we do about it? We can learn the technique of Emotional Transfusion and begin to reduce our negativity with positive self- talk, affirmation and cognitive restructuring of dysfunctional thought patterns. These positive messages tend to work as emotional transfusion as they give us the new energy, mental peace and facilitate better coping skills to deal with our situations. They change our outlook, and perception. My advice is to first have the awareness of your negativity; only then can you do something about it.

The bible declares that we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind and as stated from this excerpt we can actually go through an emotional transfusion. WOW! The challenge now is to allow an optimistic attitude replace pessimistic thinking because this is what triggers fearfully thoughts which lead to fearfully behavior and actions that are based on fear tactics. How do we allow this emotional transfusion to become an active part of our lives?

Meditate on These Things

“ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8
